Desintegrating Life.

Indeed, my title is rather emo. Lack of updates = fail. Lack of life = fail2x. Anyhoo, seeing as my camera is broken and incapable of bringing you any new pictures, you will have to settle for my little doddles and drawings. It's an idea that I've been toying with in my head for a while now anyhow. I've been avidly following many other fashion bloggers (for they are a great and many species that come in every shape and size), and have been inspired. Somewhat. To do something more with this blog. But anyway, for now chicken scratch (click for fullview):

(Random doodle of Raven from the Teen Titans. lol)

(Yes, my toes and nose and fingers and ears were rather chilled. )

Also, as to not end on such a depressing note, all that non-stop digestion of fashion bloggers and their fantastic closets made me itch to sketch. Or..buy things. But...well, I'm poor so sketching it is. I thought it'd be fun to draw some outfits: yes, I own all of the pictured, with the exception of one or two...but either way all the pieces and clothing exist. Hah.

I think I will color them and then post them up next time. Still experimenting in general.

Life is...estranged.

Autumn Rains

Hello there, my little chick-a-dees.

Safe to say, I am a terrible blogger. Now with a broken camera, I will be an even more terrible one. But on the upside, I am happy to say that the weather has finally cooled, and grey horizons of endless clouds greet my eye. This is my kind of weather. Mmmm. The weather of the forever morning. Right now, it's raining, and the pitter patter of rain brings me a sort of serene joy that I can't really communicate to you with words. All I need right now for the world to be right and at peace is to have a steaming cup of coffee next to me to complete the mood. Alas, I am on a coffee diet (been clean since this summer...I used to drink three gargantuan cups a day) so I shall settle for a steaming cup of milk tea instead.

(This is a few weeks old. Managed to snap this after class ended.)

The past few weeks haven't changed much regarding my activities. However, a few new things that I am worrying about  include college applications, portfolio works, and study abroad programs. I've also learned new things about myself the past week, which is always interesting.

And seeing as my camera is still broken (god, my flash drive broke too, why is everything breaking around me?! ...That was incredibly emo) I have no new pictures to post. So I will bring you old ones that are new because they've never seen the light of the internet.

Hmmmmmm, been thrifting. As usual. But what's really depleting the sums in my bank account are my art supplies. Dang. But anyway, back to thrifting here are a few images from my adventures to the thrift stores.

(The heel! The heel!)

The picture is crap, I know, forgive me. There were a pile of these shoes at the Salvation Army. They were ridiculous, either white, or a light pink, but obviously the real eye-catcher were the hollow acrylic heels filled with layered liquids and plastic nemo's. Whaaaat?

(I would love to meet the previous owner of this tie.)

And next up, we have a tie. Embroidered with many miniature flashers. This one was just infinitely amusing to me, and I had to snap a quick shot to remember it. One wonder what in the world D.O.M. could stand for?I may never know.
Moving away from findings to doings, here's a quick shot from casual outing with the Gary-Monster. This took place about a week or two into the semester...man, feels like eons ago. >.<

(Sadly, being too white-washed and assimilated, the Chinese character on the cake escapes me.)

We went to this tiny little bakery and spotting this teapot cake! With our stealth worthy of ninja-status, I managed to take a picture of it. Though I've seen much more intricate cakes, this is still something to admire in itself.

Well, that's pretty much it for now.

Fall ain't coming fast enough.

Hi y'all.

Super delayed entry. My apologies. Fall semester has started, but the weather has not. I just checked the weather report tomorrow and it's going to be 90 degrees. Good lord. Where is my cooling autumn breeze? I want it. Now.

As for school, this is probably my busiest semester. But I kind of like it. I also got the internship that I mentioned aforehand in the previous enties...so...yay for moi! Though I'd really love to get a source of income, a real paying job would be nice. Just spending some odds and ends on my art supplies is also fueling this want.

Back-tracking, some of the most prominent events might include the LA fires that had been spreading like mad throughout the course of a few days. I even woke up to find my car covered in ash one morning. It was ridiculous.

(And here is the view from PCC, you can see all the smoke/smog, covering up the skies.)

( And here is the lovely apocalyptic sky from the view of the parking lot. No photoshop.
Though my camera did exaggerate the deathly colors)

(Last, but not least, here is a personal close-up of the ash cloud that floated ominously over the mountains for days. Photo is courtesy of my frriend, who was flying at the moment, and managed to snap a shot of it as he was on the way to NY. It's ridiculous, isn't it? Almost ridiculously lovely.)

After that was over with, and the air slightly clearer (as clear as air can get here), life's hectic doings continued. Recently it's been, stress, school, internship, stress, homework, school, school, oh dear god this was due?, internship, school, omg-it's-Sunday-finally-my-one-day-of-freedom, school. Repeat the process and mix and match.

I do bring a few more photos from my lasting days of summer and first week of school though, since the first week is always the least demanding.

(My friend dead and buried 6ft. under a pile of pillows. Rest in peace, dearie)

(I think this was...a little earlier in the summer? I can't remember. But I adore the strangeness of how the image came out.
Flash added to the picture for once instead of killing it)
I also hit the monthly flea market at school...didn't really find stuff to my fancy, but I did buy this tiny gold fan that's fold-able and everything. Quite quaint. It has cranes etched onto one side, and the other a Chinese dragon.

(And by tiny, I do mean tiny. I don't have particularly large hands, infact, people tend to tell me of how small my hands are, and this fan is tiny between my fingertips!)

Well, that's pretty much all for now. My camera also happened to break last night. -_- I don't even know how it happened...!!! It was working perfectly fine just before and then all of a sudden the lens refused to retract, and now it's permanently bulky and incapable of taking any pictures. Joy.

Well, onward to the assignments due tomorrow!

Enjoy your life with vigor for me,
~ CH

The Beginning of Fall in NY

Hi there! This is Su. And this is going to be my first post for this week. I am not as good of a writer as my friend Ch ^_^;;  and I tend not to be clear on what I write or explain. I haven't written anything or free blogged since the beginning of last summer (it ended already thank goodness). So to save you from boredom and your pet peeves I'm going to write you a short blog, a love song <3 (jk Lol). Not because I'm lazy (trust me, I have sooo many things I want to tell you about being a newb in a town where you have to know your hood) it's because, first of all, it's my first post. I don't want to bore you with the long introduction about myself, my school, and ny, second, because it's freakin midnight already and I have to wake up at 6 am tomorrow for my wonderful sketching class of gothic sway and s-curve nudes, and third, probably my post will be mostly about me whining and complaining that will increase your annoyance and hatred towards me to 10. Yeah I'm a pessimist. I think for the worst. I imagine people @#%$%^& me up because I bombed this site with my ridiculous bsing. I imagine people #%#$%$& in the comment box because I'm sensoring the words because I cannot think of any words to insert there (use your imagination). That's what being an artist is all about. You have to think for the worst possible critisicm and outcomes that will be thrown at you. Nothing will always go your way. All you have to do is hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Because that's when you can suck it up and throw it back at their face and show them that you're one hardcore bi@#$%h.
Well simple to say than done. It's your choice and decision. Don't wait for someone to choose it for you.

Okay.. What I just said there.. wasn't me @__@ I was influenced by this evil guy who keeps calling me a @#$%& and said that I'm fat because I eat cake everyday. A CAKE A DAY! Thats not a lot. I am eating 'sparingly' just to let you guys know. LoL
Nah I'm just kidding Haha XD He's not "that" evil. He's my closest friend so far in Pratt Institute, my art school that I'm currently attending. I know it has only been a week or two, but I guess there are friends that are made right just for you naturally. In my case, probably the talkative and sarcastic kind of people is what I'm more compatible with. Oddly. There are exceptions ;)
So please don't kill me >_
Moving on.
I know I'm supposed to post some kind of pictures. I mean proably to you guys words are boring, that you need some visual things to keep you alive and interested. I hate to break it to you.. but.... I've been dumped, so all the pictures turned pitch black as they burned with my dark hatred towards the world, forever gone even from the face of netherland. They can feel my pain!
Back to reality. Actually, I'm too lazy. I thing I prefer giving you guys some bloodshots on that lovely eyes than to wait another hour to choose the pictures and another hour to upload them. See.. An eye for an eye.

Actually I just realized that I ran out of time.. It's 1 am already!! Gahhh @_@! I need to go to sleep now. Love to chat and everything else, but my schedule is tight and being a fashion major is something worth giving your leisure time for a later time. Oh no no, I love all of you who read this blog with all my heart, but life is just to short to stick with one. LoL just kidding. I'll continue this some time later. I'm going to talk how beautiful my art campus is and how I can convinced you that this school is just not what it seems, being in Brooklyn and all. So bye bye ~Love Su.

A Fall Beginning

Hello again,

Once again, Su is too busy to post properly, so I'll take over. Summer is quickly coming to an end, as this is my last weekend before the fall semester starts! Oh, woe is I.

So this is what I've been doing in my dwindling days of freedom:

I went to the mall. Exciting, I know, but I haven't been to the mall for quite a while, and my friend wanted to go and shop a bit to get a gift for his little sister, so I thought...why not. Let's go the mall and soak up the deliciously chill air conditioning while we're at it. It's been hellishly hot lately, shooting up from a pleasant 70 degrees or so to a sizzling 100!

(A crotch shot, and the modeling of my sweater. That is all.)
Didn't buy anything, as nothing really caught my interest. After integrating myself into the culture of "thrifting"....most retail stores have lost their appeal to me.
Speaking of shopping and thrifing, I did thrift a few days ago. And it was a good day, as I found a few goodies that I readily added to all the junk in my house.

To my delight, I found these two scarves that I wanted instantly. The first one, is rather small and light, and sports a pattern of boxes and circles in the primary colors. Funky, but I like it. The second might actually help me retain some warmth this fall/winter, and has famous works of architecture on it, including the Colosseum! My desire for patterned scarves has been satiated. For now.

A deceivingly simple black shirt....Not. With huge see-through sleeves! It's much too big for me, and I've yet to possess the courage to wear this out in public...but, I do like it. And it was only a dollar. I couldn't resist the deal. So shoot me.
Shoes. I have too many pairs of red shoes now. (Three currently.) I've been hunting for a pair of sturdy black heels...but on my shoe hunting trips I keep finding red shoes! Terrible.

And a new wallet. It's boring, but I had functionality in mind after using this for an extending period of time:

Despite being very pretty and shiny, it was such a hassle to use. It was just at the right size, so that dollars were pinched at the edges went put in. And if dropped, all my cards would fly out haphazardly, but the biggest issue that gnawed at me was the fact that I couldn't put change in it properly. But my new boring leather wallet solves all that! So, hooray. :)
.
And despite dreading the start of school, a part of me looks forward to it...although this semester's schedule being the most trying of all...with classes ranging from 8AM, to 9PM at night, and what really takes the cake is that I have class from Monday through Saturday! (I'll be heading out on Saturday mornings to Physical Anthropology...how lovely.)
.
But it's the vague symbolization of a fresh beginning that makes it worth looking forward to. Not to mention a guarantee of getting out of the house six days out the week.  One of the biggest things really is that I also have a job interview this first week of school at an art store (the vague symbolization solidifies a tiny bit) that has gotten me all jittery and nervous and excited and anxious and abusing run-on sentences!
.
Best hopes and wishes to the all of us for the coming fall!

1st Official Post! :D

So Hi all!

This is the first official post on SU.CH, brought by yours truly, CH.

Su is currently entering a transitory period in her life, as of this morning she has taken a plane to the Big Apple. Sooo, as I speak right now, she's probably unpacking and moving and meeting her new roomies in New York. Very exciting. :D Can't wait to hear about it.

So since I'm not doing anything particularily exciting (though these past few weeks have been very hectic)...here I am. But getting on with it, the past Wednesday was spent as a sort of last-get-together between the two of us before she had to leave. The planned adventures for the day were to hit three main destinations: the Japanese Garden in Van Nuys, Rodeo Drive in Bevery Hills, and Aux Delice (cafe) in Pasadena.

Unfortunately, we left too late in the day (about 2 or 3 in the afternoon), which I then remembered that the Japanese Garden opened only till 4 in the afternoon. :( So mid-freeway on the way to the Garden, we changed plans and decided to head to Beverly Hills. However, we missed the correct transfer on the freeway and ended up exiting onto what suspiciously looked like Chinatown. Hah!

Anyhoo, technology saved us, as Su's GPS managed to reroute us in the right direction. And not-so-soon enough (we kept experiencing minor set-backs, destination-wise), we arrived into Beverly Hills, where the cars were noticibly nicer, the asphalt smooth, and the trees green and lush.
Ah, Rodeo Drive, we have finalllyyy arrived. It was very busy. Very very busy, the place was swarmed with cars and people! Though I should've expected it, it never did occur to me just how busy it would be!

(to say at the very least, Su and I have been experiencing a theme of personalized license plates. This is the 2nd that we've encounted recently. Perhaps the driver is laughing haughtily at my lower socio-economic class citizenship? I will never know. And later, as we left, there was another car which bore a license plate that said "Nanniez." Blatant self-advertisement?)

The two of us ended up walking around a small enclosed plaza called the "Rodeo Collection." And Su began hankering for a little snack, so we dropped by a sweet shop located in the place and bought a few things, and enjoyed them in a tiny tiny corner.

After a few more hours of simply walking, a tiny bit of window shopping, we decided to leave for Pasadena and have some dinner. We'd passed by a Japanese restaurant on Rodeo Drive, spied Sashimi Salad on the menu displayed and craved it all the way back. So once we got back to good ole' Pasadena, Kabuki was our choice for dinner. There we satisfied the craving for Sashimi Salad, ordered a Sunshine roll if I remember correctly (spicy tuna roll wrapped in fresh salmon sashimi and avocado), and other servings of sashimi. We'd also tried two new things! Being the ocean eel (I usually have the freshwater eel) and beef sashimi. Didn't take any pictures because the lighting in the place was just so damn dark. But Su loved the beef sashimi, I on the other hand...would rather not eat it again. It had good flavor, but I disliked the extreme chewiness of it. I'll take my eel instead, thanks.

(edit: Huh. Didn't realized that these two pictures matched till I set them next to each other. Pure coincidence.)

And of course, Su, having a strange and unusual stomach, always has room for desert. So we finally got to the cafe Aux Delice, and ordered. I was pleasantly surprised by their chocolate eclair and creme brulee, the sweetness was just enough. I was too full from Kabuki to eat much though...

(Here, Su models her bag of cookies. Ahaha, the face was drawn on by my eyeliner as I had no pen. XD )

(we saw these RIDICULOUS things upon leaving the cafe )

So, onto the last destination...

( Yes. The two of us combined, SU.CH are really quite creepy people lurking around the staircases, so beware of us. ;] )
So we ended the day at the City Hall, which looks pretty epic at night, with all the dramatic lighting and whatnot. Su was creeping herself out, and we ended trying to take creepy pictures of each other as you can see. (Su: "Your dress is too short! Ghosts don't wear such short skirts! Your too fashionable to be a ghost! XD And me: "You're too colorful to be a ghost! Look at all those summery flowers of happiness!) But I think we did well enough in the end. ;)

Well, that concludes our first official post! :)
SU.CH is out and about.

Best wishes,
~CH.
